Parkburn - The Parkburn DeepWater Capstan “DWC” is a compact lightweight capstan de-tensioning system designed specifically for fibre ropes. Uses include lifting and lowering of subsea packages, either as a standalone device or integrated into crane systems, providing significant performance improvements over comparable steel wire systems.

They will have a working model and will be running a video of an 75Te DWC unit built and tested under DNVGL 2.22(lifting appliances and ST-E407 (Deployment and recovery systems).

The DWC will be a game changer in the use of fibre rope for deepwater lifting, it overcomes many of the limitations of both standard drum winch and traction winch technology. It has been designed, built and tested within the UK.

One of the major global crane manufacturers has selected the winch to be the engine for their next generation of fibre rope cranes. Further announcement will be made during the show.
