Noliac exhibited large piezoelectric plates and discs, which is particularly interesting for sonar applications.

During 2015, they focused on expanding their production facilities to be able to produce even larger piezoelectric plates and discs. They can now produce the largest piezoelectric plates yet from Noliac with a length or width up to 127 mm. They can also offer their piezoelectric discs with an outside diameter of up to 185 mm. The expanded production capabilities has also resulted in the thickest piezoelectric plates to date from Noliac.

They exhibited one of their new customised shapes suited for underwater applications - a piezoelectric wedge shape component. The piezoelectric wedge is just an example showing one of Noliac’s customization capabilities.

They also exhibited examples of the piezoceramic material that their products are made of; a range of piezoelectric components in different shapes and sizes; and examples of sensors and transducers using their own piezoelectric components.

They provided high quality piezoelectric products and their exhibits displayed the range of their capabilities. The large piezoelectric plates and discs were of special interest to the industry, since the size of the piezoelectric components is a major issue for underwater applications. The piezoelectric wedges are very interesting for the industry, and it seems not many companies offer this customised piezo solution.

Their exhibits were used in a wide range of underwater applications for instance underwater communication, fishfinders, multibeam sonar systems, acoustic positioning systems, sub bottom profilers and hydrophones.

Their exhibits were of particular interest to those who attended the Hydrography, Geophysics and Geotechnics; Monitoring Structural Integrity: Understanding Risk and Reliability; Ocean Observing Systems: Marine Technology and Services Sector Role in the Blue Economy; and Positioning & Metrology conference streams.

Noliac explained that they present a unique proficiency in the field of piezoelectric technology. “We design, develop and manufacture the total range of piezoelectric products - from powders to mono- and multilayer components and all the way to finished plug-and-play applications.”
