AML Oceanographic Ltd

AML Oceanographic Ltd had most of their products on display and were able to give demos.

Products they will be highlighting are as follows:

• Base X2 – Profiler with WiFi connectivity and GPS cast geo-referencing. Can be SVP or CTD.
• CT Xchange – combined conductivity and temperature sensor
• UV Xchange and Cabled UV Biofouling Control – biofouling control for CTDs and other subsea equipment

Base X2 offered the best profiler technology of today in a compact form. Available in 100m and 500m versions, Base X2 retains the size of its predecessor while gaining WiFi connectivity and GPS cast geo-referencing. Data is automatically downloaded and processed into desired manufacturer formats, saving valuable time for the operator.

With AML’s new combined conductivity and temperature sensor, CT Xchange, Base X2 converts from an SVP to a CTD profiler with the switch of a single sensor head.

UV Xchange and Cabled UV Biofouling Control are the industry’s only proven biofouling control products. The longest running in situ deployment of AML CTDs with UV Xchange to date began in October 2013 continues today. UV Xchange has maintained sensor surfaces in a high fouling shallow water environment for over two years of continuous deployment, with no cleaning or other maintenance. Cabled UV brings the solution to other subsea equipment and surfaces, such as third party sensors, ADCPs, camera lenses, lights, hydrophones, sonar heads, and much more.

Exhibits included: The rest of their X Series instrumentation and XchangeTM sensor product lines, along with new environmental sensors adapted to X Series.

Exhibits were particularly interested in attending the Hydrography, Geophysics and Geotechnics; Ocean Observing Systems: Marine Technology and Services Sector Role in the Blue Economy; and Positioning & Metrology conference streams.

Established in 1974, AML Oceanographic of British Columbia, Canada designs and manufactures oceanographic instrumentation and sensors. AML pioneered the design of field-swappable sensors, which minimize downtime and logistics costs, and maximize the utility of each instrument in a fleet.

Beginning with Sound Velocity, their XchangeTM suite has grown to include Pressure, Temperature, Conductivity, and Turbidity. New Base X2 and Data Xchange bring Wi-Fi and GPS to profiling, thereby streamlining data collection. UV Xchange and Cabled UV, the industry’s only proven UV biofouling control products, enhance in-situ CTD performance and prevent fouling on other subsea equipment. AML continues to strengthen its X Series product line, providing a full spectrum of instrumentation solutions for hydrographic surveying, environmental monitoring, and other applications.
